unfinished, heart and soul
December 31, 2016 - Daily Notes, From the Editor
Happy New Year! Oh, the plans I had for ending 2016 with a neat bow, a perfect email, and an announcement of a new offering I've been working on for early 2017. Out the window they flew sometime in the last week while I struggled to balance heart work with paid work, dreams with reality.
Instead, I woke this morning unfinished. Like I always do. What is it about New Year's Eve that makes me think I will finally be done?
So rather than write a tidy ending, or give you my manifesto for how to step into the strangeness of the year ahead (as if I know), I would simply like to offer you my gratitude. Heart and soul.
Thank you for reading Lucia this year.
Thank you for subscribing to Lucia.
Thank you for contributing your writing.
Thank you for carrying Lucia on your shelves.
Thank you for sharing your heart.
Thank you for inspiring me.
Thank you for being part of my tribe.
I can't promise what I will finish in 2017, but I can promise you this: I will show up with heart and soul. The world needs more heart, so I invite you to join me. (We can even pinky swear. I haven't done that in a long time.)
May your bubbles sparkle this evening, and may they inspire you to smile with the recognition that life is always a work in progress and that, in itself, is beautiful.
Here's to being unfinished, heart and soul.
